The school is required to cover certain topics for Personal, Social, Health & Citizen-ship Education (PSHCE). PSHCE is not a separate subject within the timetable. Many topics are covered by house parents during house time, and some topics need to be covered in year group settings.

The school has organised a programme of PSHCE sessions to take place over 5 weeks on a Wednesday from 2.45 – 3.45pm. All students will remain in school for these timetabled period 6 sessions with their house parents and visiting speakers. A key focus of the programme will be education on forming healthy relationships. You may have heard discussions in the media about the importance of teaching this topic in schools. Each week a specific year group will work together on an appropriate topic.

The dates for the Wednesday PSHCE programme 2.45 – 3.45pm are all in the second half of the summer term. They are as follows:

Wednesday 7 June 2017

Wednesday 14 June 2017

Wednesday 28 June 2017

Wednesday 5 July 2017

Wednesday 12 July 2017

There will be a similar program of Wednesday PSHCE lessons throughout the new academic year 2017-2018. The 10 x one hour sessions will run from 2.45 –3.45pm.
