As a member of our Learning Resources Centre (LRC) your child may borrow up to 3 resources (one of which may be audio visual).
Resources include books, DVDs and audio books.
Resources are issued for 3 weeks (longer if there is a holiday) and the return date is stamped inside them. Resources issued to students become their responsibility. Fines are charged at 5p per resource per school day if they are late back. If a resource is damaged or lost the replacement charge will be requested.
All students are expected to have an appropriately challenging book to read with them every day; they may borrow this from the LRC or bring one from home.
Reading is very important to a child’s education and students should be reading for at least 20 minutes per day. Please make sure that reading is one of your child’s independent study activities each night.
The LRC is open every school day at break, lunch and after school from 8.30 am – 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am – 4.00 pm on a Friday.
We run a book group every Friday at 8.00 am. Please listen to them read and discuss their book with them. It is also helpful if you can continue to read more difficult material to your child.
